Default Griffin Farming

Ok, i must not be getting it. I see people who have like 4 sets of 15k armor and they say they got it through farming. When ever i farm griffins, they drop next to tothing, and the minators usialy rape me. If anyone could please give me specific instructions on how to successfully farm, that would be aswsome.

Just make sure you pick up everything and sell it to the merchant. On occasion you'll get those items that are worth far more than the merchant will offer naturally.

There are A LOT of threads on how to farm this. If you would like me to go into detail for you, send a PM. Or search threads.

Remember, that drops are always random, but yes, there are certain factors.

Edit: Try searching in the Tyrian Explorer's League

People have this opinion that Griffon farming is the uber farming spot. When in actuality it's just a good place to make a decent amount of cash. Gold weapon drops aren't the norm. Mostly Purples. Like it was said. The bulk of the income comes from the money drops and selling everything of little value to the merchant. I would say that excluding the rare great weapons you get once in awhile. Griffons averages about 1.3 to 1.8k per run. Like I said, a grind. Not like UW where ectos and shards net the big bucks.

One thing I've done to offset the nerfing of Aura is to not take on as big of groups as I did before. And I use a Glad Stance/ Symbol of Wrath then Aura cycle to deal the most of the damage. Which works out well for me. The only negative with smaller groups is that it takes longer, which brings down the dollars vs. time spent average. Which doesn't bother me all that much as I only farm once or twice a session anyways. And when I do go out. I kill ALL griffons, Minotaurs, and Rockshots in Prophets path Which makes my hauls about 2k to 3k.

Cyclone Axe, Penetrating Blow, Executioners Strike, Gladiators Defence, Bonettis Defence, Vigorous Spirit, Healing Breeze and yup you guessed it Mending.

Basic build to farm the griffs and minos, hit mending for your base regen, vigorous before you charge in for the first time, once in and they are more or less grouped around you, hit Gladiators, and cyclone/adren skills, if you need more healing for any reason, while in glad stance is the best time to do it. Once glad runs out, hit bonettis.

Rinse and repeat.

Its not a particularly special build, just a basic one that will do the job.

loot on a run varies, but typically somewhere between 2-5k a run once you have sold stuff to merchant.

^^^^ Too complicated.

Cyclone Axe, Bonetti's Axe, Balthazar's Aura, Symbol of Wrath, Healing Hands, Vigourous spirit, Live Vicariously, Balthazar's Spirit.

Cast both enchantments at the beginning. Aggro. Cast healing hands, cast symbol of wrath, then balth aura, then vig spirit. Cycle between cyclone axe, bonetti's until you can use healing hands repeart for the smiting.

When you use a sword you'll have to use hundred blades. The reason being is so you can get your adrenaline back up, and you heal a lot because of vig spirit and live vic. The more enememies and times you hit, the more you heal.

Now THAT being said, hundred blades has to be enemies adjacent to your target, not to you. So basically, if you have an enemy behind you, you're not going to heal yourself back up to the amount of that one enemy hitting you. So you'll have to be careful when to stop and hit them, or where even.

If you're using a sword, here is what I use:

Gladiator's Defense
Watch Yourself
Healing Breeze
Mending
Balthazar's Spirit
Bonetti's Defense
Balthazar's Aura
Zealot's Fire

Smiting, Healing, Sword: 9
Tactics: 14

Watch Yourself used to trigger Zealots, but now I just bring it along as a force of habit. You could alternatively bring in Vigorous Spirit, Symbol of Wrath, etc..

Eh, just don't think that'll be able to take on more than 2 groups at the same time. Amount of enemies attacking will be too much if trying to aggro. But it's not bad for going at a few groups at a time.

If you plan on being a farmer, then monk primary is the way to go. Or even E/Mo, but Mo/W does it the best imo and much faster.

Maybe to you, but not to everyone else.

What is easiest to farm is what you are comfortable with. No one else can really say something else is the best. All on preference. It's only easy because one has practiced it enough times to know it works well, and is used to it.

I agree that you will do best with what you're comfortable with. I've successfully farmed with monks, warriors, and rangers so far. In my opinion the good old 55hp mo/w can get the job done faster than any other combo, even after the skill updates. Of course you can farm with any class, but after all my experiments I've found that other class combos take longer.
